Kim Seung-ryong, head of the National Fire Agency, emphasized that in order to respond to complex disaster environments such as climate crisis and a super-aging society, we must be reborn as a firefighting organization that predicts, connects, and leads rather than simply dispatching and responding. To this end, the plan is to actively introduce cutting-edge equipment such as AI control systems, unmanned robots, and strength-enhancing suits, and to evolve into an intelligent organization by systematically accumulating millions of dispatch data per year. These technological innovations are expected to serve as a practical foundation for protecting the lives of more people by securing golden time while promoting the safety of field crews.

K-Firefighting's innovation is not limited to Korea but is expanding its influence to the international community. The National Fire Agency signed a letter of intent for disaster management cooperation with the Indonesian Ministry of the Interior and agreed to transfer Korea's advanced 119 emergency reporting system and education and training know-how. This is an example showing that Korean firefighting is establishing itself as a standard for international disaster response. In addition, the National Fire Agency continues to discover innovative firefighting products and designs using cutting-edge technologies such as AI through the ‘Korea Firefighting Industry Awards’. These attempts are significant in that they go beyond simple technological development and increase the competitiveness of the fire protection industry, laying the foundation for our technology to leap forward to a new standard for global safety.

Efforts at the private level to remember and honor the dedication of uniformed workers are also shining brighter as June marks Patriots and Veterans Month.
