At Computex 2026, Exascend, the enterprise and workstation brand of Memoright, showcased its first SSDs to implement the new NVMe 2.1 protocol. Current PCIe Gen 5 based SSDs are based on NVMe 2.0, and the new NVMe 2.1 protocol, which lays the groundwork for computational storage, NVMe-oF network booting, new TLS 1.3 authentication, and out-of-bounds management—features mostly relevant to the enterprise market, through we'll see some of these features in the AI inferencing client segment.

The company showed us their PE5 SSD in the E1.S form-factor, with a PCIe Gen 5 x4 host interface, NVMe 2.1 support, 3D TLC NAND flash, and capacities ranging from 1.92 TB to 15.36 TB, with up to 14 GB/s of sequential transfers. The PE5 also comes in an M.2-2280 form-factor offering identical features, and capacities going all the way up to 15.36 TB.
